I Love.....
.....the colours of the leaves in autumn.
.....the miracles that are my children - everyday they do or say something that makes me smile.
.....colours - in my wardrobe, in the sky, in the paints department of B&Q. I love even more the fact that you can mix and match colours like lego blocks.

Summer Holidays
Probably this is the reason why, but time just seems to zoom past me these days. I still remember looking forward to the children's summer holidays, so we could spend a lot of time together. And now here we are, in the third week of September already!

Deepthi's Potato Bake.. Oooh Pardon, Gratin
Deepthi learnt this from the family she stayed with in France last year. She'd made it today to welcome her Mom home. I was the fortunate person who picked her Mom up from the airport and who was asked to stay for (my second) lunch. Despite being full from my own lunch of fried chicken (Farzana's) and this, I easily managed second helpings.
Place frozen hash browns on a shallow baking tray (Deepthi had used one with about 1/2 an inch rim). Top with peeled raw potato slices. Sprinkle some chopped red and green pepper over. Now combine cream of mushroom and/or (confirm this) cream of celery (as per the original recipe, but D used potato soup) soups with some sour cream. Bake (or grill?) until the potatoes are nearly done. Now sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake until golden.

M-isms
For the food fair at GVETNS yesterday, I wore my plain black chiffon saree with a sleeveless blouse. M wasn't too pleased about me going out in it. She wasn't happy about 'your tummy showing'.

Happiness
Happiness, it's true,
Comes from within
Finally it's up to you
Whether you weep or grin.
Suman

A Beautiful Song
I heard this song quite a few years ago - if I could only remember where! It's the kind that touches your soul, even if you don't understand the lyrics. 'Malaika' ='Angel' in Swahili.
